How MonkeyMind Counselling Is Different
MonkeyMind Counselling works with people and families that many services quietly avoid.
Alongside autism and ADHD, I specialise in supporting adolescents and adults who experience intense anger, emotional volatility, behavioural escalation, and psychosocial disability — including situations where safety, risk, and burnout are very real concerns.
Rather than treating anger or aggression as the problem, my work focuses on what sits underneath it: nervous system overload, threat responses, trauma, and unmet needs. Change isn’t expected before safety is established.
This is counselling that:
-
understands survival states, not just behaviour
-
prioritises safety for everyone involved
-
doesn’t rely on insight, compliance, or “calming down” on demand
Many people come to MonkeyMind after therapy hasn’t worked — not because they didn’t try, but because the approach didn’t match how their nervous system actually functions under stress.
Here, therapy adapts to the person — not the other way around.
